To set the tripmeter on a Suzuki GS 150R, locate the tripmeter reset button, typically found on the instrument cluster. Press and hold the button for a few seconds until the tripmeter resets to zero. All newer vehicles have a combination electronic odometer/tripmeter - Odometer measures the total miles on the vehicle and the tripmeter measures the miles since the last time it was reset - used for logging trip distance, measuring mileage since last fuel stop to check mpg, and etc... There is a push button there somewhere on/at the dash that toggles the display between odometer/tripmeter - changing to the tripmeter display, and holding the pushbutton down will reset the tripmeter to O miles...

the plastic gear in the cluster that drives the odometer and the tripmeter is probly broken ..
The tripmeter knob located near the odometer on the instrument panal can be rotated left or right to accomplish this.
Your tripmeter reset button twists, clockwise to make gauges brighter and counter-clockwise to make them more dim.
If you know where to change the odometer/tripmeter display... Instead of pushing that control, turn it counter-/clockwise to dim/brighten the dash lights.
1. Switch the Ignition Off2. Press and hold the tripmeter (mileage reset) button on the dash3. Now switch the ignition to the ON position4. Keep the button pressed for 10 seconds5. The display will read '0' and the service symbol will extinguish.
Depending on the year ea, ed, ef etc have them on top of the steering column EA to AU3 - on top of the steering column BA to FG - on the instrument cluster on the left hand side above the tripmeter button and near the MFC display unit
