There is no such thing as a typical day. However here are some of the things I do/have done or which pastors of my acquaintance do.

The day begins with personal devotions consisting of prayer and Bible reading. Early morning is also a good time for working on one's sermon.

Once that is over and breakfast has been consumed it is time to start on the paperwork - letters to write, reports to fill out, circulars from the church organisation to throw out, and so on. If there is a ministerial fraternal or Council of Churches, meetings are often held in the morning. If there is a church school the pastor may be involved in that, teaching religion class or counselling students.

After lunch it is time to start visiting, as hospital visiting hours are usually in the afternoon and old people generally do not appreciate a visit after dark.

The evening is the really busy time: working people can only be visited in the evening when they are at home, married women should only be visited when their husbands are at home, people who wish to study The Bible with a view to becoming church members usually prefer the evening when they can concentrate. Some pastors don't get in until midnight, either because they are insensitive clods who outstay their welcomes or because their district is large and it took that long to drive back from a distant visit. Other evenings are taken up with church meetings - church board, prayer meeting, evangelistic meetings, or meetings with other non-Adventist Christian groups.
