In Austria, we have a different types of houses. Its variable from the place and the time it was built.

This is the "Altstadt" (a old part of a city) in Hallein

In the countryside, houses mostly look like this:

The walls are mostly very massive, made out of bricks. Inside there are a lot of wooden things and in farmhouses there are often furnances called "Kachelofen" in the livingroom or in the kitchen.
