The UPS Maintenance Bypass Switch is a combination of switches that by following a set sequence of opening and closing switches, (generally circuit breakers), allows a load path to be removed from passing through the UPS on to a parallel load path without any interruption of power to the load. They do this so that they can isolate the UPS from any power and perform any needed maintenance. Then by performing the sequence generally in the reverse direction you put the load path back through the UPS.
