The Vickers - machine gun - was developed based on the Maxim machine gun which was first real automatic machine gun. Vickers was an improvement and fired the .303 cartridge - extremely accurate and reliable. Used by British army during the first world war and following for many years.

The Vickers machine gun was designed in 1912 and was manufactured from 1912 till 1968.
