You can play Minecraft for free without downloading or surveys at the Minecraft.net web site. That version is the classic version though. You can go on Youtube and search for Minecraft lets play videos and see what it's like to play Minecraft. If you decide to buy it you can buy it at the store on the web site.
first go to you web browser and type in the search bar minecraft.net. it will take you too a minecraft page. click minecraft classic under where it says play minecraft in browser download. once you click minecraft classic it will take you too a page where it will say that you should play the demo. ignore that and go down to the bottom of the page where it says singleplayer and multplayer. click whatever you want and play!
