wheel and axle
Yes, or a chain, or a cable. And the "wheel" may have teeth - a sprocket wheel.
That would most likely be a pulley. A pulley is essentially a wheel on an axle that usually has a groove in the middle of its circumference that holds a rope, cable, belt, or chain. Pulleys are used to transmit motion rotationally and apply force in the direction of said motion. Two or more pulleys makes a tackle. Hope this is what you were looking for.
A pulley is a simple machine that has a grooved wheel that holds a rope or a cable. This is used to lift heavy loads. It is also known as sheave or drum.
a pulley is a wheel with a grooved rim in which a rope, chain, or belt can run in order to change the direction or point of application of a force applied to the rope, etc. There is a pulley in a car the pulley turns the belt that goes around it to turn another pulley that might turn the water pump, or alt., or a/c. Hope this answers your question! :)
A wheel, a groove and a rope/chain.
a pulley is a wheel with a groove along with a rope or chain.
For the home "do-it-yourselfer":. I put the belt around all the wheels except the alternator, then I put a strong rope around the belt and as I pulled it up around the alternator wheel with the rope my son used a screw driver to guide it on, and it worked. You have to pull it hard to compress the spring loaded smooth wheel on the bottom back. There are suggestions to put it on the smooth wheels first but there is no easy way to do that. one of the bottom back smooth wheels is spring loaded and you have to pull the belt hard to compress that spring and make it go on. You can't do that easily and get it around one of the smooth guides, hence I came up with using a rope around the alternator because it is the easiest wheel to get at.
A sheave (/ʃiːv/) or pulley wheel is a grooved wheel often used for holding a belt, wire rope, or rope and incorporated into a pulley. This allows the wire or rope to move freely, minimizing friction and wear on the cable. Sheaves can be used to redirect a cable or rope, lift loads, and transmit power. A sheave (pronounced “shiv”) is actually part of the pulley system. The sheave is the rotating, grooved wheel inside the pulley.
Yes. It is a pulley.
Has a wheel and a rope around it to pull
It is a wheel with a rope moving grove around it
A pulley, is a mechanism composed of a wheel on an axle that may have a groove between two flanges around its circumference. A rope, cable, belt, or chain usually runs over the wheel and inside the groove, if present. Pulleys are important and useful because its used to change the direction of an applied force, transmit rotational motion, or realize a mechanical advantage.
