The woman role in Islam is the same as for a man regarding all ritual worships and tendency to do good deeds and practice good morals and tolerances. The woman in Islam has the full right to get education, to work, to have her own business, to give witness in the court, to select her future husband, seek divorce, and to be treated kindly as a society counter part that is equal to man. In the meantime, woman in Islam has additional roles that man can't perform as caring of the babies and feeding them and participating in raising up the children.
In some Islamic countries; in violation to Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) teachings; prevent the woman from her rights to be educated or to work. These attitudes are based on local cultures and traditions rather than Islamic religion rules.
