A yowie is a strange ape-like creature of Australia, usually frequenting the bushland of southern Queensland. A diary entry written on 25 July 1851 stated they were "short, stout and of very muscular appearance... covered in thick black hair...the stench of their body is unbearable...great hunters of the forests and jungles...They come and go without being seen. They can hide in the undergrowth in such a manner that one can be touched or struck without their person being visible... These were the Woningityan/Won-ingee-tyan - the shadow men creatures of the jungles and forests..."
There is no scientific proof of the yowie.

No one except you calls bigfoot "yahoos". Yowie and Yahoos is an Australian term for bigfoot.
The so called Australian Bigfoot is called a Yowie. Whether it is real or not no one really knows
The existence of the yowie, also known as the Australian Bigfoot, is widely doubted by scientists. There is currently no concrete evidence to support the existence of this cryptid. Sightings and accounts of the yowie are often attributed to misidentifications or hoaxes.
There is no report to that. These hairy humanoids are said to be intelligent, curious and omnivorous. They are said to kidnap, kill and eat chickens and other livestock. They have been seen eating fruit, going through people's trash containers and eating road kill. Most Yowie sightings are of solitary ones, but pairs and families have also been reported.

One famous Austrailian cryptid is the Yowie, a tall and supposedly vicious hominid. However, the yowie does not live in the outback, being restricted to bushland, not the wide open spaces. The bunyip is a mythical creatures of the outback and also coastal areas. It is water-dwelling and takes many forms. The kadimakara is a desert creature like a large rabbit. The Queensland tiger is also reported, but again, is not found in the outback.
