If you are using natural ingredients instead of the artificial colourings produced in much of the industry, then tomatoes are used to make the pasta red, while spinach is added to make a distinctive green tinge. When I went to Italy two years ago, there was a blue-black pasta made from calamari, or squid!

∙ 14y agousually to make you pasta pink you use the pink sauce! Pink sauce is made with red and white sauce you mix it together and it makes a delicious sauce you can eather put tomatios chunks in it or pinches of mozzarella to melt in it. Trust me it makes a difference when you cook it on a pan before you put it on the pasta. Even if you just are cooking white sauce you can put pinches of paramseon and some olive oil is good too.

∙ 12y agoChilli will colour the pasta red but may make it very hot! Be better to try paprika instead.
Or experiment by adding a very small amount of food colouring, which you can buy from most food stores or supermarkets. But remember the food will look unnatural and not be inviting to eat in some colours. So avoid colours like blue, black, brown and purple. Pale green pasta looks quite acceptable though.
