Answer: The "Night jorney" and "Acsention" came at a time when Muslims were being treated with extreme harshness. They had been confined to a valley on the outskirts of Mecca. No one was allowed to do business with them, nor intermarry, nor anything else. In that year, Muhammad lost his two closest loved ones: his wife of twenty-five years, Khadijah, and his uncle, Abu Talib. He did not know what would become of his message. It was called "the year of sorrow".
