Extremist is one who is when believes in something he/she goes to its extreme and being not moderate and not mutually understanding. An extremist could be in any religion or faith, any character, any moral, any habit, any clothing, or any food eating. It is a kind of addiction that is not favored by Islam teachings or any other religion rules.

∙ 11y agoA religious extremist is one who has found a way to use a specific religion or a few out of context teachings of a religion in order to justify radical methods of controlling, exterminating or preying upon other people. For such extremists religion is only an external trapping or front even if they are convinced of their own religious fervor.
Several religions have some history, teaching or tradition that suggests there will be an idealized future in which ALL people will be subject to that religion, and some of them also have prophetic pronouncements that there will be periods of intense and violent struggle before that future time. To extremists this is gold. They believe that anything they can possibly do to hasten that period of violent struggle must be advancing the work of the deity, and is therefore the correct course of action.
Sincere followers of religion will almost never agree with this approach; for them religious extremism is an oxymoron. Religions bear the burden of the excesses of extremists, and that burden is very hard to shed. People in general are used to associating extreme and profoundly inhuman acts with the religions that extremists claim to be following.

∙ 10y agoAn Islam extremist is like extremists of all other religions and faiths. Extremists of any religion believe that he/she is following the right belief and others are not and that they should be attacked and defeated. Extremism is against Islam teachings.
