There is no difference if you save simply all the data either in Database or List of tables in a excel sheet. But one advantage of storing all the data in the database is, any DBMS software can easily (of course it can take it from Excel sheet too) extract the data using SQL and it can easily provide the following functionality
1. Consistency of the Database
2. Durablily
3. Automicity
4. Isolate transaction execution
5. Data Security By giveing proper authorization.
But those things will be missed if you simply store the data in a Excell sheet or list. Those things should be taken care by a programmer by their code.
Database's are better than just recording information on a sheet because databases do more things where you can search for people quicker and easier using queries and reports. It is also easier to enter and store information on a database rather than paper.
We would use in rather than on. Data is stored in a database, not on a database. Data is entered into a database not onto a database.
Advantages of Deductive Database Languages· The database may hold some information as rules rather than tables (eg the 'forebear' relation we used in examples· Only need one language. RDBMS often use two languages, COBOL to code the program, and another language to interface with the user (SQL).· May do complicated analysis of dataDisadvantage· Less efficient
An encyclopedia is considered a reference source rather than a database. It provides information on various topics in a condensed and structured format, typically organized alphabetically or thematically. It is meant to be used for quick reference and general knowledge rather than data retrieval and analysis like a database.
advantage and disadvantage of using cd-rom to get information about encyclopedia rather than internet
Greater accuracy in reading them.
The advantage is knowing information that you may need to know. The disadvantages are being exposed as untrustworthy and finding out information you would rather have not found out. In business, in the USA, the advantage is the information and the disadvantage is the penalties (prison or fines).
What information are you seeking? I have a rather large database containing a lot of information about the Model 1894/94. Contact me at Win1885@msn.com Bert H.
One answer is when you are dealing with image files like JPGs or PDFs. One mistake I see people making is storing image files within a database. That's a poor design. They bloat the database and can't be indexed. You should store the images in a file system and simply put ponters in the database.
Use the Transmit Database function on one, and the Recieve Database function on the other. Make sure the one Transmitting is set to "Issue" rather than "Fill" to make sure the information copied will be usable from the 2nd SKL.
