The cast of The Mystery of Chaco Canyon - 1999 includes: Paul Pino as Himself - Laguna Pueblo Council member - this is not the same Paul Pino in your database Robert Redford as Narrator Anna Sofaer as Herself - archaeoastronomer
People are all saying stuff like "Oh, its gonna be the end of the world!!!" Well I say MAYBE THEY JUST GOT TIRED OF WRITING DOWN DAYS!!!!Astronomers generally agree that "it would be impossible the Maya themselves would have known that," says Susan Milbrath, a Maya archaeoastronomer and a curator at the Florida Museum of Natural History. What's more, she says, "we have no record or knowledge that they would think the world would come to an end at that point."University of Florida anthropologist Susan Gillespie says the 2012 phenomenon comes "from media and from other people making use of the Maya past to fulfill agendas that are really their own."Personally I don't think anything will happen in 2012, since there really isn't any science to back up any of the phenomenon that are commonly mentioned... See the "what will happen in 2012" link below, and also the Wikipedia link right after it and compare the common doomsday theorists' topics of interest examined from a pseudo-scientific viewpoint, and then one with real scientific grounding. The most commonly mentioned and recurring themes are the Mayan calendar/predictions, Planet X theory, Galactic alignment, pole shift phenomenon and Solar Flares. Also, Nostradamus gets mentioned a lot and the History Channel had a whole series of episodes devoted to him and his supposed 2012 predictions. All in the name of ratings/viewers, I say...Now of all the supposed events that will take place in 2012, the Solar Flare phenomenon which is claimed to be ultra active and violent in 2012 and 2013 is the only one I give partial credit to, as it indeed has some actual scientific backing. The sun has been very calm over the last decade compared to the past century (solar minimum), and many fear that the next solar maximum will be very strong and affect our satellites adversely. Or it may be nothing it all. I don't buy any of the more extravagant theories though, like that the earth will stop spinning, etc. But it's common knowledge that we have so many sensitive electronics in space and on earth, that it's only a matter of time before a large solar storm hurts them badly and will cause billions of Dollars of damage and replacement costs.
