A lunar eclipse is when the moon over laps the sun it becomes dark for hours on end
There was one in UK last night. It's when the Earths' shadow crosses the Moon, in other words the Earth is between the Sun & the Moon. A solar eclipse is when the moon is betrween the Earth & the Sun.
Answer #1:
An eclipse is when one celestial body passes between another celestial body
and the Sun, cutting off some or all of its light.
A "solar eclipse" occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun.
A "lunar eclipse" occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon.
In fact, the Sun need not be involved. All that is required is for one celestial body
to obscure the light from another.
So, one body can pass between another and the observer or between a body
and the source of light.
For example, an "eclipsing binary" is a system of two stars where one can pass in
front of the other, as seen from Earth.

Answer #1B:
An eclipse is an occasion or a process, in which one celestial body moves into
the shadow of another one. A solar eclipse occurs when the Earth crosses the
moon's shadow, and the view of the sun is completely or partly cut off from
some people on Earth for some period of time. A lunar eclipse occurs when the
moon crosses the Earth's shadow, and the people on the night side of Earth lose
some or all sight of the moon for some period of time.
A solar eclpise is when the moon passes between the earth and the sun. A lunar eclipse is when the earth passes between the sun and the moon. In both cases, the eclipse is when part or all of the shadow of the earth or moon falls on the moon or earth.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes behind the Earth so that the Earth blocks the Sun's rays from striking the Moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, a lunar eclipse can only occur the night of a full moon. The type and length of an eclipse depend upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes.
a luner eclispe is when the moon goes into the earths shadow and so you can't see it because the sun isn't shining on it for a while but then it comes out of the shadow and you can see it again and it's a ful moon
There will be a total lunar eclipse on December 21, 2010, visible from anywhere in North America.
A solar eclipse is a shadow; the shadow cast by the Moon on the Earth. Because the Sun is enormous and the Moon is small, the Moon's shadow is even smaller, about 300 miles across at most.
A lunar eclipse occurs every six months or so when the Moon passes into the shadow of the Earth.
That means that only part of the Sun is covered.
It can cause lunar eclipses, and solar eclipses.
A solar eclipse may be partial, total, or annular.
For the Earth as a whole, partial solar eclipses are slightly more commonthan total ones. For any one location on Earth, partial solar eclipses are far more commonthan total ones.
There were no total solar eclipses during 2007. There was one total lunar eclipse, one partial lunar eclipse, and two partial solar eclipses.

The next total solar eclipse will be on July 22, 2009
A partial solar eclipse (when the moon passes between the earth and the sun) is when the moon only partially obscures the sun. A total solar eclipse is when the moon totally obscures the sun. A lunar eclipse is when the earth passes between the moon and sun, and earth's shadow eclipes the moon.
the kinds of eclipse in our earth is solar eclipse and lunar eclipse
