It is a Cummins turbo diesel engine. It was the first diesel engine to meet 2010 emissions standards for a diesel.
manufacturers were adding particulate filters as standard components of the diesel engine. The filters were designed to act as barriers, preventing the diesel emissions from being released into the air.
It will do damage to a diesel engine. Drain the tank and flush the fuel lines. Do not run this engine with unleaded gasoline in the tank.
If you put petrol in a diesel vehicle do not start the engine. Petrol will do serious damage to a diesel engine. You must drain all the petrol out and flush the fuel lines.
they cracked down on diesel engine manufacturers' installation of "defeat devices," or software that changed engine performance and emissions under highway driving conditions.

dat is a very durable truck. anyway try an engine flush and a diesel treatment. if its turbo which i think it may not try using a thicker engine oil. that is an oil of higher body
If they mix with the wrong things, it can blow out.
You can flush your Caterpillar diesel engine cooling system by removing the drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. What a running water hose in the top of the radiator and leave it run.
Yes. The difference is that marine diesels do not (yet) have to run a diesel particulate filter, SCR, and other on-highway emissions controls, and thus can use low sulfur diesel fuel. Highway engines use Ultra Low Sulphur diesel fuel (ULSD) because of emissions requirements. Now, bear in mind that ULSD has less lubricity than low sulfur diesel fuel.
Hopefully you haven't run it yet, so drain the tank and flush the fuel lines to keep the diesel out of the engine. If you have run it, consult a mechanic. You may have to break down the engine.
in general gasoline will affect on any diesel component that combine rubber seals ,rubber '0" rings ,and if engine its capable of running will damaged pistons connecting rods by bending them / if you come to this mistake do not crank or start the engine ,towed to your mechanic and have him flush the entire system.
