The ghettos set up by the Nazis were outside Germany - mainly in German occupied Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine. Well known examples include the Warsaw Ghetto, the Lodz Ghetto, Krakow, Lemberg, Vilnius, Riga (Latvia), Minsk (Belarus). In many large cities in Germany, Jews were moved to designated Jewish apartment blocks which had a huge J above all entrances. The Nazis knew that ghettos would not be well received by non-Jewish Germans and might lead to people asking awkward questions. Please see the related question (below).
In practice, that is exactly what the ghettos set up by the Nazis were.

Hitler spent time in Vienna as a painter, and he also was part of the German Army fighting in World War One. That experience helped set him on the path to his role as Germany's leader, and the holocaust.
If they were caught by German soldiers they went sent to Concentration camps where they would stay in overcrowed apartments with 5 families in each one..called the Ghettos, until bigger extermination camps were built. Most were sent to extermination camps where they were told to take off all their clothes, and be sent to have a shower, as they were told. Instead of water they set off a gas to kill them. If they weren't caught by Hitler, Himmler or the soldiers they would be in hiding, or escaping Germany and it's surrounding countries that were ruled by Hitler. hope that helped!

After World War 1, based on the Treaty of Versailles, major restraints were placed on Germany's military power. Limits were set on the size of its army and limits were imposed on various types of warships. For example, Germany was forbidden to build submarines. Eventually, even before Hitler, Germany disregarded many of these restraints.

On September 1939 Poland was invaded by Germany using planes, people and other various equipment. Britain then threatened Germany and announced that if Germany did not withdraw there troops from Poland, Britain would be at war with Germany. Adolf Hitler, Germany's leader refused and coincidentally Britain set war on Germany.
The treaties set up at the end of WW1 hurt Germany deeply, and left them unable to repair themselves. When Hitler came to power, Germany threw themselves at him as a chance to improve their nation. As Hitler became more and more aggressive, the British Prime minister tried to appease him by giving Hitler what he wanted- more land. However, when Hitler invaded Poland, Britain and the other Allies realized that there was no appeasing Hitler and WW2 was started to prevent a German takeover of Europe.
