The loops on a wire
Its on the side of the starter, looks like a small cylinder.
Its ether siezed or if its electric start the silenoid might be bad.
check silenoid at other end of + cable for loose connections ,To check silenoid connect the 2 connectors together w/ screwdriver & it should start ....If this doesn't work check connection at the starter, starter could be bad.....
You need to change the controll silenoid it cost $220.00
it is the wire that runs between your starter and your silenoid. your silenoid is generaly located on the inside fenderwall of our engine compartment. it is about 3" tall, 2" in diameter, and has 2 large leads coming out either side with 2 smaller leads coming out between those. there should also be a red and a black wire attached to the large leads. generaly the red one runs to your starter. this is the wire you are looking for.
Alternator, silenoid, battery cables. After you have checked those 3, try a new battery if its more than 3 years old.
mine wasnt working at all then i fiddled with the solenoid and it worked out but not in ... so it could be the silenoid, also make sure you have the spool of wire set to engage not dis engage ... good luck
i need to know how all the wires go to the silenoid and the glow plug controler for a 6.9 diesel in a 1986 ford f250. need help bad!!!
I had this problem with my 1990 century. Turns out ther silenoid on my starter was bad, I replaced it and it worked fine. Also when its dark outside pop the hood and have a buddy look for any spark at all when you try and start it. If you see one you may have a wet or lose wire, Dist. cap, or spark plug I had this problem with my 1990 century. Turns out ther silenoid on my starter was bad, I replaced it and it worked fine. It sounds like you're experiencing issues with the transmission shift solenoid A on your 2000 Jimmy. Since you've already replaced the solenoid and verified that the wiring looks good, the problem may lie in the transmission control module or the valve body itself. Additionally, check for any trouble codes that might indicate further issues, such as sensor malfunctions or low fluid levels. If the vehicle shifts properly in 1st gear but not in drive, it may also indicate a mechanical issue within the transmission.
sounds electrical i only have one q if you are interesed use trans x from auto zone (not trans medic or any other) if it does not fix it then its the silenoid in the pan most likely
you have two shift sol. both of them are at the back of the valve body, if you don't know which one you want to replace they are fairly inexspencive to replace both. Once you have the pan down you unplug the two sol. on the back of the valve body and pull the little hair pin type clips, hold pressure on them because one of them has a little spring tension on it then pull it out and put the new ones in.
