It is when a job is filledby someone who already works in the organisation. The job may be advertised on a notice-board, in a company (in house) magazine for the workers or by emailing the details to all workers who might be interseted in, the job.

Its advanteages are:

  • it is rather cheaper to advertise internally than externally
  • it may be quicker to recruit someone who is already employed within the business
  • the person appointed will already jnow about the organisation, it aims, objectives and the ways of doinf things
  • the organisation can be confident, because the person appointed would be known well
  • it may be good for the moraleof the workforce
