If a girl is asked to do a math problem on the bord, a guy might say something like, "we'll she can't do it because she's just a girl". Or, like in the movie Mean Girls 2, if a girl walks into a carpentry class, an example of sexism would be if a guy in there said, "Home Economics is down the hall." Those are both examples of sexism.
Another example, from only weeks ago in the news:
A dress code that bars girls from wearing certain clothing, because it may be "a distraction to learning" for the male students. Yes; this happened recently, look up Tottenville High School is Staten Island. Even though there was no air conditioning, girls had to sweat because administrators feared boys would have trouble focusing on their lessons. Is this really 2014?!
Sexism.
true
One serious form of sexism is occupational sexism. Also, ambivalent sexism is another form of sexism that is still currently going on in society.
gender racism is sexism
There's sexism everywhere.
There is an element of sexism in every country in the world, so there is some sexism in Ireland.
someones personal feelings about sexism
In the military women cannot occupy combat specific jobs.
There always has been sexism.
I would like to know what are some disadvantage of sexism
Sexism is a form of prejudice against someone based on their sex/gender. For example refusing to hire someone for a job because they are woman, or telling a boy they can't cry because it's 'girly'.
Sexism is seen everywhere in many societies.
