On WikiAnswers, an unsuitable question is any question that violates our Terms of Use in any way, or is otherwise useless to the community. Remember, an unsuitable question doesn't necessarily have to be offensive to be deemed unsuitable. A question can be deemed unsuitable for any of the following reasons:

  1. Asks for a how-to or otherwise encourages software license violations, bypassing Web filters and site blocks, and any illegal action whatsoever.
  2. Asks about pornography sites -- any reference to a pornography site is in essence 'advertising' it, and this is not permitted on WikiAnswers.
  3. Adds no value - any question that isn't helpful to the community in any way, even if it isn't necessarily offensive.
  4. Doesn't have enough information to answer - any question that would require more information to answer can be deemed unsuitable.
  5. Any question that asks how to commit suicide, or in any way condones suicidal thoughts and actions.
  6. Any cyberbullying content whatsoever, no matter how 'joking' or 'harmless' it might seem to one person, is subject to immediate removal. Cyberbullying is any hostile behavior directed at another person using technology (in this case, WikiAnswers). ANY insults in questions and/or answers will be removed and the offending account can be blocked without warning.
  7. Inappropriate subject matter -- this area can be difficult to pin down, as certain subject matter that may seem inappropriate to some (e.g., questions about sex) are helpful and permitted on WikiAnswers. An example is any question that is asking for the private address of another person (even celebrities). Any questions about appropriate questions can be answered by a WikiAnswers Supervisor, or by emailing us at Support (at) Answers.com.

Here are some examples of unsuitable questions:

How do you install Windows for free? (Software license violation)

Is Somepornosite dot com still running? (Pornography site question)

How do I go on Facebook at school if my school blocks it?(Bypass a blocked site)

Which of the following describes France's role in WWII?(The content is appropriate, but it asks us to identify an item on a list that isn't present)

Is hanging better for suicide than shooting? (Suicide how-to)
