An example of verbal irony in "Federigo's Falcon" is when Monna Giovanna tells Federigo that she would like to eat his falcon for her sick son, not realizing that the falcon has already been sacrificed to make a meal for her. This creates a contrast between what is said and what is meant, adding tension and humor to the story.

There is none really. The very closest thing to being verbal irony would be somewhere in “I would prefer to remain a widow, if that would please you; but if you wish me to take a husband, you may rest assured that I shall take no man but Federigo degli Alberighi.” but even that doesn't meet the requirements even the slightest. I've searched everywhere and can not find any.
