Another name of selective breeding can also be artificial selection.
There's a few terms for it, dependent on circumstances. When a government requires its citizens to serve in the military, it's known as compulsory service, conscription, or a draft. When foreign nationals are more or less kidnapped and pressed into the service of another country's armed forces, it's known as impressment.

This gave all citizens nearly equal shares in all aspects of life including the military, giving no man more glory than another as all men participated in the training and battle when crises came.

There is not 4 ways, but two. If you are born in the US you are a citizen and if you are from another country you can be naturalized a citizen. Children born to an American citizen are automatically citizens and children born in places like a military base are also citizens no matter where the base is located.
