Iridescence is an optical phenomenon that changes hue in correspondence with the angle from which a surface is viewed. These hue fluctuations mainly occur when light waves intersect two or more semi-transparent surfaces. This intersection causes the wave lengths to shift and interfere with other light waves that intersect the surfaces from offset angles.
