compost
If you mean organic food, then this is the answer : Organic foods are grown foods such as patatoes, or apples that grow in soil without chemicals or products with acids to help grow the food. Eg : Normally an organic apple will be green or yellow in colour and maybe sometimes a hint of red. Genetically Modified apples will normally be bigger and most of the time are shiny cherry red.
"eat your organic food, boy!" heehee
I only know what Decomposer is sorry... Definition: 1. An organism, esp. a soil bacterium, fungus or invertebrate, that decomposes organic material. 2. A device or installation that is used to break down a chemical substance. Hopefully this will help you I don't know if this is really the right word and definition ?? Sorry I did the BEST I could to find the actual word:)
Saprobes are fungi that absorb food from decaying organic matter. The word originates in the ancient Greek prefix σαπρός (saprós, "putrid"). The fungi represent the only multi-celled organisms that digest cellulose and lignin, two major components of plant cell walls and of wood, and feed on chitin in insect exoskeletons and shellfish shells and on keratin in fingernails, hair and hooves.
Another word is "consumer." All animals are, by definition, heterotrophs; they cannot synthesize their own food and so must eat other organisms for the organic compounds necessary for survival. However most fungi, and many bacteria and protozoa are also heterotrophic.
Decay and decomposition are what forms humus.Specifically, the word designates organic matter in soil. Organic matter includes carbon and nitrogen. Its two main sources within soil will come from the breakdown of dead and dying animal and plant matter.
Humus is decayed organic matter which turns into a dark-colored material.Specifically, humus can have its original meaning from Latin and Greek as "earth, soil" and its current meaning as "organic matter within soil". It particularly is found in the topmost 12 inches (30.48 centimeters) of soil. It is results from the decomposition of animal and plant matter. It will be recognized by its dark color, fresh smell, and nutrient-rich structure and texture.
There are many but one is. The top layer of the earth's surface, consisting of rock and mineral particles mixed with organic matter.
"Organic matter in soil" or "soil" is what the term "humus" references.Specifically, the word derives from the Latin noun humus. It designates "earth, soil" in its original meaning. Soil is prized for its life-sustaining mineral content and organic material. So the term nowadays tends to honor the nutrients - especially carbon and nitrogen - which are recycled into the top 12 inches (30.48 centimeters) in the earth's soil horizons.
Compost is another term for organic matter that is changed into humus. The two-word phrase and the two words all reference recyclable material whose carbon- or nitrogen-rich components break down under the proper conditions and with the proper procedures. All three share the end-product look, smell, and texture of dark-colored, fresh-smelling, nutrient-rich, soil-like particles.
organic
A black powdery or flaky substance consisting largely of amorphous carbon, produced by the incomplete burning of organic matter.
Soil is a mixture of abiotic and biotic components: minerals, organic matter, water and air Abiotic soil components include mineral matter (clay, silt, sand), water, air and organic matter. Biotic soil components include insects, fungi, algae and bacteria.
