a sword fight can be in sport, battle, or fun. but in the time of knights and all a sword fight was to show strenght, in all a sword fight is 2 people battle, each with a sword and the goal is to kill your opponite as fast as you can . (movie sword fights are not very good examples)

I am highland dancer and the sword dance is a dance that is danced with and over swords. I wouldn't recommend trying it until you have been dancing for at least 2 months, know the simple positions and most baisic movement and technique or you will seriously hurt yourself... take it from a girl who has been there.

It was originally used as a form of combat fitness training for Scottish Army Regiments and done with the sword blades upwards.
