Atomic Mass is approximately the sum of the number of protons and neutrons found in the nucleus of an atom. Basically atomic mass is the weight of the neutrons and protons in one atom.

For elements with no stable isotopes, the mass number of the isotope with the longest half-life is considered the atomic mass of the element.
Atomic mass is, roughly, the number of protons in addition to the number of neutrons (M = P + N).

the mass of an atom of a chemical element expressed in atomic mass units. It is approximately equivalent to the number of protons and neutrons in the atom (the mass number) or to the average number allowing for the relative abundances of different isotopes.
