It originally was nicknamed the "butter pear" (its a fruit) because it was so high in fat (nearly 30 grams of fat for every average sized avocado), and therefore was considered very bad for you to consume on a regular basis. More research has shown that the fat is that of the monounsaturated kind, and is actually quite beneficial in lowering bad cholesterol in the body. Studies have shown that eating an avocado a day for a meaningful time period actually demonstrated a few health benefits (one being the aforementioned lowering of "bad cholesterol" and overall cholesterol). Studies prompted health specialists in the U.S. to change their view on the consumption from avoiding the fruit, to actually recommending the consumption of avocados for the health benefits.

Avacado's are good for a lot of thing's one of my favorit is an avacado dip or even use it in sauces,u can find a lot of recipies on avacado cooking web site.........
