Backpay is a withheld payment for work which has already been completed, or which could have been completed had the employee not been prevented from doing so.

Typically, an SSI attorney charges fees on a contingent basis, which means they only receive payment if they win your case. The fee is usually a percentage of the backpay owed to you by the Social Security Administration, up to a maximum set by law. These fees are subject to approval by the SSA.

Employer has 4 people in ca and 1 in co all do the same job ca employees are hourly co salaried ca got 3 years overtime backpay co got nothing is that legal?

A lot has to do with each states' overtime and hourly wage law as well as the type of work done. You emntioned that there was backpay given, was this done as a result of a court order? if so it may be that the person in co was mnot included in the suit by choice or because of the laws of one or both states. This is a complicated situaiton with too many unknown factors to simply answer, hence the advice of an attorney is your best bet. If need be, check with a local Legal Aid office to see if they can help.

When will Colorado State extended benefits begin to go out?

From what i understand it will be the 17th HOWEVER i wouldn't hold my breath! I was told the 1st week in aug now i under stand it will be the 17th. I really hope they will talk to my landlord about my rent and talk to my local police about not pulling me over for no insurance because i have been waiting 5 weeks for a bill that was signed on June 2nd to go in effect July 1! The newly posted data, form to complete for SEB payments, states that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to process the SEB claims and there is no backpay for claims. The backpay for claims begins on August 28. So it will be late September or October when you receive your first payment.

You just got approved for disiabiity with 14 nths back coming to you you also have a 6yr and 13yr will the get 14mth backpay also?

You got approved, not the two kids. If they get something because of your disability, then I would expect that to go back the 14 months also. If you have to apply now for them to get benefits since you are approved it would start from the date you apply.
