20w-50 is recommended by HD. However many people run straight grades like 50 or 60 weight. I have used a 50-70 multi grade from Penrite for years. I am thinking of changing to a Synthetic as there are several available like 20w -70 from Penrite . This wide range oil would suit Australian conditions which have large temp changes.
