So far there is no "best" material, there are several options, but they all have their drawbacks. Metals are easy to work with, but look real obvious in your mouth. Porcelain takes longer to make, but looks more natural. Ceramics are even better, but like porcelain takes time. Plastic is real quick and can look quite natural, but don't last long.

Dental crowns crackle sound with ice cream type foods?

When you visit a dentist for your crown or bridge, your dentist will "prepare" - remove your old crown, remove cavities of your tooth, etc. Then your dentist will take an impression of your "prepared" tooth and send it to a dental lab. The dental lab will then make your crown or bridge to replace your "prepared" tooth. Depending on the lab, your crown can be very good or not so good. When your dental crown crackles it is because of your crown is not prepared well. For more information about Dental crown visit www.identallab.com

The Many Benefits of Dental Crowns?

It is not uncommon for people to want to have a great smile and set of teeth. Unfortunately, this dream is not often a reality for some and it may leave these people feeling hopeless and ugly. Thankfully, dental innovations are quickly growing and dental crowns are becoming more and more realistic-looking. The entire crown procedure is also relatively easy and normally only involves just a few dental office visits. The reason you may need a crown is because a tooth may have too many fillings in it or you may have broken an existing tooth that you have in your mouth. To begin, it is imperative that you visit a reputable dentist for your work. The dentist will determine if a crown is within your best interest and will begin the procedure for one as necessary. First, the dentist will file the tooth down so that it is just a small stub, referred to as the core. The dentist or another dental professional in the office will take an impression of the teeth so that they can send this out to a local laboratory who will be creating your crown. When it comes to dental materials used, most laboratories will use porcelain that is lined with metal. In general, it will take about one or two weeks for your crown to be made and shipped back to the dental office. From there, you will have the crown fitted to make sure that it is comfortable for you. The dentist will be able to make adjustments so that you can feel as comfortable as possible when eating and talking. The dental crown will then be placed into your mouth with a hard and lasting cement that is nontoxic. The entire process is relatively simple and is a more time-saving way to avoid an expensive implant procedure. It is always a good idea to discuss your options with your dentist before they actually begin the procedure. If you are unsure if a crown is within your best interest, it may help to get a second opinion. While crowns are beneficial for the aesthetic appeal of your smile, they can sometimes be unnecessary.
