Well it depends, I hear the Thompson is a good gun, even though it is a WWII gun, it may look odd in the mix of all these modern weapons, but preforms just as well. The downsides to the Thompson is that you can not customize it as much as a M4, and mags may be harder to find for it.
The M4 is going to be a more common gun on the field, but it is one of the most popular guns for airsoft, there are many different models of it so you may have to look at a few reviews if you choose a M4. The M4 is a good preforming gun, depending if you get a good one (usually about 150 to 200 for a medium grade one, which i recommend. You can customize it much more because there are many things that are built for it (grenade launchers, rail systems, ect.) and it will attach scopes, flashlights, lasers, that kind of junk. The mags for this gun are more common too.
If i were you i would maybe choose the M4 because it is easier to find parts for it if it happens to break and is more customizable, the only downside is that you may loose the vintage look of a Thompson, which i think is a pretty cool looking gun.
P.S. If you decide to choose the Thompson M1928 I would suggest you check out www.kapowwe.com, also check out this review by them ~ http://www.YouTube.com/user/KapowweCompany#p/u/6/QJ3c0gK5Jj8
It all depends of the company making it. A Tokyo Marui M1A1 Thompson would be better than a cheap Wal-Mart M4. But a Classic Army M4 would be better than a CYMA M1A1 Thompson.
The M4 CARBINE IS BETTER THAN THE M16.
personally i wouldrecommend a m4 as is cheap easy and cheap to fix but a thompson would be fine
Most airsoft battles take place in close quarters which is what the m4 was made for. Unlike the m16 which was made for longer ranges
Many different companies make Airsoft mac 11 and m4's. However, the M4 models are generally a better all purpose weapon, where the mac 11 is only good for very very close quarters combat.
The AK 47 Is Better Then m4
m4 there are spare parts
It depends on which companies make the m4 you have, but generally companies stick to the same dimentions for magazines for the m4/m16 family.
One would be able to find out more information about m4 airsoft guns online on Amazon. Two other sites that have some information about m4 airsoft guns are wikiHow and HobbyTron.
It all depends on preference. I personally like ECHO 1 and G&G.
