Actually, you can burn a lot of energy sleeping cold. I am a mechanical engineering student and I was just doing this for my own interests: making a lot of broad generalizations, you can burn like 200 calories an hour just sleeping with no blanket in room temperature. The actual amount could be more or less than this. But this amounts to 2000 calories for a 10 hour night which is like .6 pounds.
When I was in highschool my Wrestling coaches told me this trick, but my parents said it wouldn't work. I tried it and it seemed like it worked.. I thought I lost an extra pound a night doing it. And now its turning out that it actually does takes a good amount of energy to keep your body warm, especially when you're not well insulated.
The only drawback is it might not be a particularly HEALTHY idea. We all had our moms tell us to bundle up or we'll get sick.. I don't think science has proven or dis-proven this yet, but maybe burning all that energy when your supposed to be resting is taxing on your system?
Sleeping hot seems like it might be a good idea, but the only problem is you will only loose water weight by sweating yourself all night, then you'll just be dehydrated unless you drink it all back the next day.
trying to lose weight sleep in cold, trying to gain weight sleep in hot.
Because your feet aren't cold
She joined a support group for dieters who need help losing weight. After such a cold winter, we can't wait for spring.
Tryptophan helps people sleep; yogurt, and peanuts are high in tryptophan. Also try to sleep on your side and breath from your mouth if you have a cold. Hope this helps, Bye.
well--first deworm, check the teeth , if all is good take a look at the environment (fly season, cold, hot weather, new horses on site ect) all good take the temp and call the vet
I was told by my doctor that sometime sleeping better when it is colder could be a sign of early heart problems, but in order for that to be true in a persons case they would have to have other symptoms, such as swelling in the feet and legs, sleeping slanted having severe heartburn which can be mistaken for angina. Some people sleep better when it is cold because their body temperature is higher then others, when they are sleeping. Most people that are obsess also sleep better when it is colder. I have noticed that when I sleep I have the window open and my fan going even when it snows but at times I will cover up but I breathe better when it is colder. I was even checked for sleep apnea at one point.
Lack of sleep can have effects on the body causing aging, poor judgment, and depression. By doing something such as putting socks on at night this can help a person from becoming cold which will result in a better night's sleep.
they always feel cold because the "fat" that was lost carried most of there body heat. if they where "fat" for along time they most likely used to that body tempurature.
If you have been going to sleep late, you get cold sores when you then go to sleep at an earlier time.
The way you get better is depended on what you have! If you have a cough, cough syrup should help, and if you have an ear infection, a prescription from a doctor can help! Other wise, sleep is the key to almost all problems! Especially the flu or a bad cold. Feel better!
