The capital of Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales) is London, located in the South East of the country and is a center of Government, Tourism, Monarchy, Media and the Finance Industry.

Individually, however, the three countries have separate capitals as follows:

England: London

Scotland: Edinburgh

Wales: Cardiff

Ireland is sometimes also considered to be part of the British Isles and its capital is Dublin. Northern Ireland's main city is Belfast.

The British Isles comprise two completely separate self-governing countries, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, since the Irish Free State was established in 1921. The capital of UK is London, and the capital of Ireland is Belfast.

The Republic of Ireland (on independence) rejected being classed as part of the British Isles, and are not therefore considered to be part of the United Kingdom.
