Butterscotch is the name given to a hard brittle candy made with butter and brown sugar.
I "saved" a batch of microwave peanut brittle that never got hard. I scraped it into a pan and melted it back down and boiled until the hard candy stage (by candy thermometer or dropping some in water - it should turn brittle and hard). When it was at the hard candy stage, I took it off the burner, stirred in some baking soda and spread it in the greased baking sheet to cool. It brittled up just right!
The sugar in the candy will get very hot and could burn you if you are not careful. Be very careful with it. It can give you thrid degree burns If it gets to hot, it will crystalize and become brittle when it cools or it will reharded.
Any candy bar with chocolate as an ingredient will have some caffeine. Two caffeine-free candy bars are Payday (peanuts and nougat) and Zero (white chocolate, which has no caffeine). Cookies and Cream is a low-caffeine bar. Planters also makes a peanut brittle candy bar, free of caffeine.
