There is no Creaton myth in Buddhism....there is no God....to ponder either one doesn't eliminate a single second of suffering or bring about any form of compassion. In Buddhism, it's sometimes said that while Men argue who made the world...and does God exist or not....at their feet crying children are starving...Shut up and feed them and give them comfort.
Buddhists incorporate the teachings of Buddha into their lives. Most are aware of the story of his life from his birth as a Prince to his enlightenment, and many know of his period of teaching until his death at about the age of eighty. The teachings, not his story are the important part.
Buddhists do not have a specific creation story like those found in other religions. Instead, Buddhism focuses on the concept of dependent origination, where all things arise due to causes and conditions. This aligns with the teachings of impermanence and interconnectedness in Buddhism.
It depends on what you mean by "believe in". There are certainly spiritual tales that Buddhists believe in as well as the story of the Buddha himself. Buddhists also enjoy stories from their day-to-day lives. However, not all stories that a Buddhist believes to be true is necessarily a source of spiritual enlightenment (and therefore worthy of proper belief).
