Buttering: the addition of material, by welding, on one or both faces of a joint, prior to the preparation of the joint for final welding, for the purpose of providing a suitable transition weld deposit for the subsequent completion of the joint.

Simply it is weld build up of (one or both) base metal(s) before beginning to weld the joint itself. This can be done in order to make up for poor joint preparation as indicated previously, but also is done to minimize the effect of PWHT on a sensitive material or eliminate subsequent PWHT.

Buttering is the process of applying a layer of weld metal to a base material before performing the final weld. It helps to improve the bond between the base metal and the final weld metal, ensuring better strength, corrosion resistance, and overall quality of the weld joint. Buttering is commonly used in metal fabrication to prevent issues like cracking and to ensure a more uniform weld.

Four Principles of process creation?

Initiation: The process is started, typically by a triggering event or need. Planning: The steps and tasks required to achieve the process objectives are identified and organized. Execution: The process is carried out according to the planned steps, involving the necessary resources and people. Monitoring: Progress is tracked, and adjustments are made as needed to ensure the process achieves its intended outcomes.

Difference between child process and threads in operating systems?

In operating systems, a child process is a new process created by an existing process, which operates independently and has its own memory space. Whereas a thread is a subset of a process, sharing the same memory space and resources as the parent process. Threads are lighter weight and more efficient compared to processes in terms of resource utilization.

Who first described education as a tri-polar process?

What is process theories?

Process theories of motivation focus on explaining how motivation occurs through various cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes. These theories emphasize how individuals decide on and pursue goals, and how they create strategies and action plans to achieve those goals. Examples of process theories include Goal-setting theory, Expectancy theory, and Self-determination theory.
