Had always heard that Vampires take three days to be resurrected from the dead, supposedly the antithesis to Christ who rose three days after his death.
Well. Let's take a road trip to Forks, Washington and ask Bella Cullen! First: Vampires are not real. Back in the 1600s, when vampires (the myth) came about, it was the time era of TB, or better know as the vampire disease. When you are diagnosed with TB, you become very pale due to fever, loss of blood, and the fact that your body is fighting a disease. Also, grave diggers thought that the new graves dug in the graveyard for the so called "vampires" and whatever demon of the night priests diagnosed, the GD thought that the bodies were vampires because they were bloated. The myth was that a vampire rose during the night and fed on villagers, civilian, and anyone roaming the streets at night and drank blood until they were full, therefor causing bloating and becoming flushed in the skin, causing bodies to look alive. But this is wrong. When man/women die, they bloat. That simple. Vampires do not exist, so please don't do anything rash like sharing blood and getting mono. I'm not saying they can't evolve, possibly, but I'm saying that vampires are not sparkling lovers who feed from bunnies and chipmunks.
