double jeopardy.
Double Jepordy
But it's very different in America, meaning you cannot be tried for the EXACT crime twice, but in Australia if you are tried and found innocent, you cannot be tried Guilty for the same crime.... That and Double Jeopardy is a movie =)
isn't that called double jeopardy?
In the US, there is a concept called Double Jeopardy which prohibits being tried for the same crime twice.
There are some exceptions however. For example, you can face both state and federal charges stemming from the same criminal conduct, or if your trial results in a mistrial and it is the fault of the defense, you can actually be tried twice.
Double Jeopardy is the legal term used but, the as the term's definition states it is not allowed to be tried for the same offense twice. The latin terms are autrefois acquit or autrefois convict meaning the defendant has been acquitted or convicted of the same offense.

double jeopardy
The Constitution of the United States protects a defendant from being charged, or trialed, for the same offence more than once.Or in a simpler way to explain, a person CANNOT be trialed again in the same crime if the person is found innocent the first time.(: Haha :)(: You're welcome!! :)
It basically states that: 1) You have the right to be trialed by a grand jury (except if you're a soldier at war, then you're screwed) 2) You can't be trialed for the same crime twice 3) The cops can't force evidence/confessions onto you 4) You can abstain from testifying in a court 5) You can refuse to answer questions which would put you in jeopardy (for example, reveal an unrelated crime you committed earlier) when testifying in a court, unless it's truly relevant
There would be an issue of crime all over the world.
Nothing will happen if you kiss the same girl a lot of times.
Nothing happens. You can't use the same code multiple times.
Double Jeopardy is a defense that forbids a defendant from being tried twice for the same crime on the same set of facts
The same as if you were arrested for any crime. You would be tried to determine if you broke the law, and if you did, what the proper punishment would be. "Gun charges" is a very vague term- punishment would depend on the crime.
Yes, you can be re-arrested and charged with the same crime. It is only double-jeapordy if you are TRIED twice for the same crime.
no because they did not have the money RUBBISH...IF YOU were wealthy, and you committed a crime, you were treated pretty much the same as the poor.
Your bail will be revoked and you'll be sent to jail to await action on the offense you were out on bail on. Then - you'll be charged with the NEW offenses.
The same thing that happens to any husband whose wife is convicted of a crime... basically nothing, with the difference that the President may have the power to pardon his wife (though if he does so, he might face some political backlash even above that he would get from associating with a known criminal).
That happens ten times in a 12-hour period.
