Missing a Sunday Mass or a Mass on any Holy Day of your own free will would put you in a state of mortal sin, and you would be unable to receive Holy Communion until you had been in to confession. Your best bet would be to give your local priest a call, make an appointment, and go down and have a talk with him, and make a good confession while you are there. The priest will be able to guide you as to how and when you make receive Holy Communion, and the absolution from the confession will put you in a state of grace to be able to receive Holy Communion.
