What is causing the engine temp gauge to skyrocket then cut the engine only when your revs are low and the heater to stop working as the temp gauge starts to climb on your 1999 Pontiac Montana?

The floor is where a lot of the wiring is run. The floor gets wet due to various things..clogged drainage holes on A/C or runoff water under windshield causing water to come into the unit from the firewall. The connectors for the wires get corroded and quit working. They must be cleaned at the connectors.

you may have a bad relay. If both of them are out, that is probably the relay for the high beams or it could also be a fuse.

My 1996 Pontiac Transport has a "Dome Light Over-ride Switch" in the dash near the ash tray. It refers to lights coming on with the Doors are Open and allows you to switch it to "Off". Mine quit working so I went to a wrecking yard and picked one out of a wreck for $5 and everthing started working again. Hope this is helpful.
