Not possible to answer at long distance, but if there are light firing pin strikes on the primer, a dirty unlubed weapon would be a good first choice. There are spray gun cleaners that can clean gunk, burnt powder, and dried oil from the firing pin channel, and under extractors. Clean the chamber as well. After cleaning, lightly lubricate, and try again. If that does not fix the problem, then you may have a broken or weak firing pin spring, or a damaged firing pin, and need a trip to the gunsmith.
Most of thses were made by Marlin under there Model 80 series

They found a better business model with hour long action/drama series.
It is not possible for you to have a "Model 97" in 30-06. The Winchester Model 97 is a shotgun, and was made in 12-gauge of 16-gauge. The only Winchester models that were or are chambered for the 30-06 rifle cartridge are the Model 54 bolt-action rifle, and the Model 70 bolt-action rifle series.
I believe your rifle is a Savage Model 340, made under the Western Auto house brand of Revelation.
It depends on the particular model of the rifle, not the caliber it is in. What model and make is it?
your winchester model 1200 shotgun has a pump action.
I would like to know what a Savage Arms Westfield Mass. U.S.A Springfield Model 18 Series F A939683 is worth? It is bolt action and has a clip in great shape. Thanks Kim Brady
