What is chrome trim on cars made of?
The trim is usually made of plastic with a chrome tape over it.
Most cars are made of steel, cast iron, aluminum, chrome plate, many types of plastic, rubber, glass, paint and copper (wire). Many cars have leather seats and/or steering wheel covers and/or gearshift knobs. Expensive cars sometimes have real wood trim. Super-expensive cars often use carbon fiber and titanium.
Will the chrome trim around the white nokia n97 rub off easily like the chrome side buttons on the n95?
There's no need, if parts are truly chrome (like bumpers) they are just re chromed, not polished. Usually the trim around windows, etc. on older cars is stainless or aluminum and oft times has a clear coat to maintain the shine which must come off before it will polish, which has a chrome appearance but is not really chrome. You can soak it, but it won't help much-it's not strong enough to remove the clear…
