The Curiosity Rover is a car-sized robotic rover, deployed as part of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory mission, that is currently exploring Gale Crater on Mars. It was launched on November 26, 2011 and reached Mars on August 6, 2012. Curiosity's goals include: investigating climate and geology, determining whether the environ within Gale Crater ever supported microbial life, investigating the possibility of the existence of water, and determining habitability in preparation for possible human missions. Curiosity's design and performance will serve as the basis for an unmanned mission planned in 2020. Or it's a space rover that landed on mars.
