It looks pretty much the same as it did 9 years ago: a great big gaping hole in the middle of Lower Manhattan. However, currently (August 2010) the frame of the new tower ("Freedom Tower") is being constructed.

Also, the new World Trade Center tower ("Freedom Tower" or "1 World Trade Center") is under construction on the former World Trade Center site (where the 6 World Trade Center building was).
