Despite all of its meanders and switchbacks it aims for and finds the Gulf.
There are two currnt theories on swithbacks:- Theory 1. Switchbacks form when reconnecting field lines Froms a curl and then continues to ripple as it grows. Theory 2. Reconnecting field lines froms a twisted flux rope like shape. It is then bombarded with turbulent solar winds. The slower wind is jutted out furst then the fast wind comes jutting out. This creates it's signature 'S' shape
Roads in hilly regions are sometimes called switchbacks. These are roads that sort of meander back and forth to allow for slower rates of climb and descent on hilly areas.
Lombard Street can be found just off U.S. Route 101 in San Francisco, California. It is famous for being the"crookedest" street in the world because of the 8 sharp turns found on it that are called "switchbacks".
You can always take the outside line and reduce speed and slightly lean. But chances are that you've tried that. If all else fails, I would change out the rear tire to a less grippy one (Small block 8 or K-Rad).
