Mosaic is the art of creating decoration, design, pattern or pictures with small bits of coloured tile, rock, ceramic and/or glass.
The art form has been practiced for more than 4.000 years. Greek, Roman and Byzantine examples can be found in many art books.
More recently the art form has resurfaced in D-I-Y projects to decorate outdoor tables, ceramic pots and even fountains.
