blending and mixing have some common grounds. Both involves mixing of various oils. Mixing is the act where one oil is being interacted with a diffrent oil, which makes a new product.

Blending is however a bit more complicated. The blend product consists of various oils, in order to give the "blend" certain amount of properties. In the same way one can have a pure component, which consists of just 1 oil. Most of the time this is not done, due to the fact that a blend (which is cheaper, as cheaper oils are used) can do the same thing. In short a blend is a mixture of several oils to be used as a final product or half-fabricate.
