Protons
Neutrons
Electron
Protons have a positive electrical charge, while neutrons have no charge (neutral).
Protons are positive, neutrons are neutral and electrons are negative.
the electrical charge
The number of neutrons is the difference between mass number and the number of protons.
Isodiapheres are nuclides which have the same difference in the number of neutrons and protons or nuclei with same neutron excess.
Atomic number = number of protons + number of neutrons Mass number = number of protons + number of neutrons
It is equal to the number of neutrons in the nucleus, not nucleons (which include both protons and neutrons.)
- protons are positive and neutrons are neutral- a small difference of mass exist

The atomic nucleus contains neutrons and protons (apart from hydrogen-1 which only has 1 proton and no neutrons). The difference between them is that protons have a positive charge and neutrons have no charge. They also have slightly different masses.

The difference between isotopes of the same element have to do with the number of neutrons present in the nucleus of the atom. Isotopes are atoms of an element that contain the same number of protons, but different numbers of neutrons and therefore different mass.

the neutrons and protons are not the same and the no. of mass is not the same. Elections are the same!
