A litre is a 1000ml. 1000ml means 1000cm3. Looking at it simply, if you had a cube which had each of its lengths of 10cm, then 10cm x 10cm x 10cm (volume of a cuboid is length x width x height) gives 1000ml. Without knowing 2 of the dimensions, you cannot guess the third and i could go on for days giving examples of 3 figures that would multiply together that'd equal 1000 (e.g. 0.5, 20 and 10, 0.25, 40 and 10), but that isn't helpful.
8 oz is 0.25 liter water.

8 fluid ounces is about 1/4 or 0.24 (0.236588) liter.
Fill small 3 liter jug with water. Pour into large 8 liter jug. Repeat. Now 6 liters of water in large jug. Repeat again but stop when large jug full. Leaves 1 liter in small jug. Empty large jug. Pour water from small jug into large jug. Refill small jug and pour into large jug. There are now 4 liters of water in large jug.
A liter (of anything) is the same as a cubic decimeter.
Here's a step-by-step solution: Fill up the 5-liter jar completely with water. Pour the water from the 5-liter jar into the 3-liter jar until the 3-liter jar is full. Now, you are left with 2 liters of water in the 5-liter jar. Empty the 3-liter jar. Pour the 2 liters of water from the 5-liter jar into the 3-liter jar. Fill up the 5-liter jar again. Pour enough water from the 5-liter jar into the 3-liter jar to fill it completely (this will take 1 liter). Now, you are left with 4 liters of water in the 5-liter jar, which gives you the required 8 liters of water.
There are an infinite variety of dimensions and shapes it could be
Fill up 8 liter bucket and 5 liter bucket. Pour 3 liter out from the 5. Pour 6 liter from the 8. Add the remains from the 5l back to the remains in the 8 liter and you have 4 liters.
These are different units. Liters is volume (3 dimensions) Kilo is short for kilogram which is mass. If you are measuring water (which conveniently has a density of 1.0) then 1 liter = 1 kilogram But if you have a liter of mercury then 1 liter = 13.6 kilograms
8 liter
Not much is known about the dimensions of a 3 liter soda bottle. However, they are said to be 28 inches tall.
It can be virtually anything depending on the depth of the box. (Remember that a box has three dimensions.)
